Fashion 2

Welcome to Fashion on the weekend...

Attended a Folk Festival in my new city today, what to wear you might ask.  Put 2 outfits side by side, picked my boot cut Gap curvy girl jeans, with belt, white button down blouse, black cardi with beaded front, paired with a gray hat, red light jacket and scarf that has red, white and black in.  Wore my small black over the shoulder purse.  Perfect outfit for this venue, saw lots of people wearing boots and hats too.  The Bluegrass music was toe tappin'.

Adjusting to life in Spokane, Washington and learning the styles here.  Similar but different, we all have different styles, some know what theirs are and some do not. Don't worry about that now, I will help out with pictures that I will soon post.  Talk about where I wore the outfit and where else it can go. Currently photographing each outfit I wear everyday, cannot wait to share.

Below are two of my most favourite sites I have ever found on Google for fashion.

Polyvore: A plethora of sets to follow and gain inspiration from.  It is a habit of mine to look at what is trending for street style.  Get in the habit of looking at stylish women where you live. Compliment them and then inquire as to who they are wearing.  Like myself, I can tell you just about each and every item I personally wear, designers, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, White House Black Market and The Gap.

My other passion and love, love, love the hunt...wait for it...Consignment stores, a gold mine of treasures. If you have never walked through the doors of one, ladies you are in for a treat. Take girlfriends with you, have fun and then of course, go to lunch and show off your new treasures.

The Chic Fashionista: Literally a book that is online for fashion knowledge.    Just happened to stumble on this site looking for the colour wheel and now my bff online.  Something about my own closet, did not sit right with my eye.  Off to The Chic Fashionista, clicked on "Closet Organization".  Oh, will try that, moving my blouses in front of my slacks was the missing clue to a look that pleased my eye.  One of the side blogs on this site is "What to wear with red pants" I found an animal print tunic to go with mine and wore the outfit out dancing.

It has been a hectic 2 last days, splitting time between 2 houses in different cities for the time being, but will always be connected to my computer and phone.  For years before blogs I wrote in my journals.  A dear friend suggested writing a blog.  Hmmmm....have to give this some thought.  So of course knowing myself, must research, so off to the library and resources on line.  After much thought decided to start last night.  During high school it was not hard for me to figure out my personal style "Classic".  The movies I watched and magazine influenced my classic style over the years.  One of my nieces is Boho chic and so stylish.

About 6 years ago went to Jenny Craig and with their help lost 20 pounds.  The most important task was to look in my closet for clothing to keep.  The rest gone (10 pounds is roughly a dress size).   The remainder to the Tailor in order to feel this new size.  The next 10 pounds I lost on my own, but with tools that I learned from Jenny Craig.  I rarely get on my scale, right next to my shower, my clothing is my scale.

We all look at each other, this is human nature, so let's give each other something special to admire everyday.

Give yourself at least 1 to 2 hours for the 2 sites above, they are a much deserved treat, no calories and relaxing  to look at during my downtime in the evening with herbal tea. Download the apps to your IPad, Smartphone, mini whatever you use.  Please let me know how you find them, I hope as useful as I have.

Well off and running again, look forward to sharing my fashion knowledge, beauty  and hair tips too.  For me personally I glean ideas and inspiration from everywhere around me everyday.

Until next time, stay beautiful, because you are
Ann
